1. Download the Bannerlord mod you want to install from a trusted source and extract its contents to your computer.
2. Verify that the mod is compatible with your current Bannerlord game version and the installed Bannerlord Co-op mod version.
3. Stop your Bannerlord Co-op server from the Game Panel.
4. Open the File Manager from your Game Panel.
5. Navigate to your server's Modules directory.
6. Upload the extracted mod folder into the Modules directory.
Each installed mod should contain its own SubModule.xml file inside its module folder.
7. If the mod requires dependency mods such as Harmony, ButterLib, UIExtenderEx, or Mod Configuration Menu, install those first before enabling the new mod. Follow the mod author's instructions for the correct dependency versions and load order.
8. Enable the newly installed mod if required by its installation instructions.
9. Start your server and ensure every player installs the exact same mods, versions, and load order before joining the campaign.
Best Practices
- Verify that every installed mod supports your current Bannerlord version.
- Install dependency mods before installing the primary mod.
- Use identical mod versions on both the server and every client.
- Keep the same mod load order for all players.
- Restart the server after installing or updating any mods.
- Create a backup of your campaign before installing new mods.
Troubleshooting
- If the server crashes during startup, verify that all required dependency mods are installed.
- If players cannot join the campaign, ensure everyone is using the same game version, mod versions, and load order.
- If a mod does not load, verify that its folder was uploaded correctly and contains a valid SubModule.xml file.
- If you experience crashes after installing a mod, remove the newly added mod and test the server again.
- Always install mods from trusted sources to reduce compatibility issues.
