
This guide explains the most commonly used configuration commands for your Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord dedicated server. These settings can be modified through the Configuration Files section of the Citadel Servers Game Panel.

1. Log in to your Game Panel.
2. Stop your server before making any configuration changes.
3. Navigate to Configuration Files.

4. Open your Bannerlord server configuration file using the Config Editor or Text Editor.
5. Edit any of the following configuration commands as needed.

Sets the server name displayed in the multiplayer server browser. |
GamePassword secret |
Requires players to enter a password before joining. Remove this line to make the server public. |

Sets the administrator password used for web administration and server commands. |

Specifies the multiplayer game mode running on the server. |
WelcomeMessage Welcome to our server! |
Displays a welcome message to players when they join. |
MaxNumberOfPlayers 120 |
Defines the maximum number of players allowed on the server. |
MinNumberOfPlayersForMatchStart 2 |
Sets the minimum number of players required before a match begins. |
CultureTeam1 empire |
Sets the faction used by Team 1. |
CultureTeam2 sturgia |
Sets the faction used by Team 2. |
NumberOfBotsTeam1 0 |
Specifies the number of AI bots on Team 1. |
NumberOfBotsTeam2 0 |
Specifies the number of AI bots on Team 2. |
RoundTimeLimit 180 |
Sets the duration of each round in seconds. |
MapTimeLimit 900 |
Defines how long a map is played before rotating to the next map. |
MinScoreToWinMatch 3 |
Sets the number of rounds required for a team to win the match. |
EnableAntiCheat true |
Enables or disables anti-cheat protection. Keeping this enabled is recommended. |
FriendlyFireDamageMeleeSelfPercent 0 |
Controls self-inflicted melee friendly fire damage. A value of 0 disables it. |
add_map_to_automated_battle_pool <MapName> |
Adds a map to the automatic map rotation pool. Add multiple entries to create a rotation. |
enable_automated_battle_switching |
Enables automatic cycling through all configured maps after each completed match. |
start_game_and_mission |
Starts the server and launches the configured mission. This command should always appear at the end of the configuration file. |
6. Click Save after making your changes.
7. Restart your server for the new configuration to take effect.
Tips
- Always stop the server before editing configuration files.
- Double-check command spelling and capitalization.
- Use supported game modes, factions, and map IDs.
- Place
start_game_and_missionat the end of the configuration file. - Restart the server after saving any changes.
