The following guide will teach you how to migrate your game server and data from ScalaCube to Citadel Servers.
Step 1: Create a Backup in ScalaCube
Before beginning the migration process, create a backup of your server through the ScalaCube control panel.
Creating a backup provides a restore point should you need to recover files later.
Step 2: Download Your Server Files
Log in to your ScalaCube control panel and access the File Manager or FTP section.
Download all important server files, including:
• World saves
• Maps and custom worlds
• Plugins
• Mods and modpacks
• Configuration files
• Custom resource packs
• Player data and permissions
Store the downloaded files on your local computer before continuing.
Step 3: Upload Files to Citadel Servers
Connect to your Citadel Servers service using FTP or the Game Panel File Manager.
Upload all downloaded files to the corresponding directories on your Citadel Servers service.
For large servers and modpacks, FTP is the recommended transfer method.
You can follow our FTP setup guide here: FTP Guide
Step 4: Verify Your Server Configuration
Before starting the server, verify that:
• The correct game version is installed
• Required mods and plugins are present
• Configuration files transferred successfully
• Startup parameters match your previous setup
• Administrative permissions are configured properly
Step 5: Start and Test Your Server
Start your Citadel Servers service and confirm that the migration was successful.
• Worlds load correctly
• Player data is intact
• Mods and plugins function properly
• Players can connect successfully
Alternative Method: Transfer a Backup Archive
If you exported a backup archive from ScalaCube, you may upload the archive directly through the Citadel Servers File Manager.
After uploading, extract the archive and place the files into their proper directories.
Common Migration Issues
Modpack Not Working
Verify that all mod files, configuration files, and required dependencies were transferred successfully.
World Missing After Transfer
Ensure that all world files were uploaded completely and placed in the correct location.
Server Startup Errors
Review your startup logs and verify that all required files and settings were migrated properly.
